On Campus Overview
The SDSBVI offers comprehensive on-campus educational programs in Aberdeen for students from three to age 21 who are blind, visually impaired, or have multiple disabilities that include blindness or visual impairment. In collaboration with parents and the home school district, each student receives a fully individualized educational plan that integrates academic instruction with the Expanded Core Curriculum.
Instruction is tailored to accommodate each student’s unique learning needs and to promote maximum independence. Specialized coursework may include:

Use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
Our educators are dual certified in both academic instruction and visual impairments, ensuring expertise in both content and accessibility.
On-campus educational services are provided at no cost to families or school districts. School districts are fiscally responsible for related services and transportation not directly provided by SDSBVI.
