Teacher

At the South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive education to students who are blind or visually impaired. Our goal is to empower our students with the skills, confidence, and independence they need to navigate life successfully, both in and outside of the classroom.

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced teacher to join our team. This position will teach a variety of essential life skills to students with visual impairments, helping them to gain independence, enhance their functional skills, and prepare for adult life.

Substitute Teacher

SDSBVI is seeking flexible and dedicated Substitute Teachers for our June and July summer programs. This is an on-call, as-needed position providing instruction and support to students who are blind or visually impaired. 

Residential Services Professional

If you are looking for meaningful work supporting student growth and independence, the SD School for the Blind and Visually Impaired has a full-time opening for a Residential Services Professional. This full-time position includes weeknight shifts (Monday-Friday, 2:30PM- 10:30PM or 4:00PM to 12:00AM), as well as various weekend and potential overnight hours. Preference given to those with RN or LPN credentials. Salary is dependent on experience.

Substitute Residential Services Professional - Part Time

Residential Services Professional position is available at The SD School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. This part-time position includes weeknight shifts (Monday-Friday, between the hours of 3:00 PM to midnight), as well as various weekend and potential overnight hours. Preference given to those with RN or LPN credentials. Salary is dependent on experience.

Registered Nurse (substitute - PRN)

The SD School for the Blind and Visually Impaired has an opening for a substitute Registered Nurse to work varied shifts. The Registered Nurse will provide nursing services to visually impaired and multi-handicapped students in a school as well as a residential setting.
